Decaf, De Caña
£11.00This particular decaf is the work of a number of smallholder growers from within the department of Huila.
Their work is special in more ways than one: First, they're cupped specifically for their quality and sourced by single-origin, either region or farm. They have been dubbed Decaf De Caña because they're custom decaffeinated using a special, natural process that utilizes a soaking in ethyl acetate, which is derived from local sugar cane.
This process of decaffeination is breaking from industry norms (and unnecessary food-miles) with processing occurring in-country before export.
Country: Huila, Colombia
Process: Washed Sugar Cane EA Decaffeination
Varietals: Castillo, Caturra & Colombia
